ClimateActions 4 Companies : “1000 ClimateActions above 1000 meters”
"1000 ClimateActions above 1000 meters," aims to preserve the Alps and make Alpine tourism sustainable and future-proof.
Through our established ClimateActions 4 Companies program, we have been guiding Swiss tourism SMEs on their journey toward achieving net-zero emissions and operating sustainably. Developed by MYBLUEPLANET, the program offers a tailored, step-by-step implementation plan for each participating company and their employees. Now, we need your help to bring it to to the Alps!
What issue does your project address, and why do you want to tackle it?
Our project addresses the urgent need for SMEs in the Swiss tourism sector to reduce their carbon footprint and implement sustainable practices. This also supports our collective need to diminish our negative impact on the environment. By guiding and providing tools to participating businesses towards net-zero emissions, we aim to protect the Alpine environment and help businesses ensure long-term economic resilience and meet the growing consumer demand for sustainability.
What is your project about and how does it make tourism in the Alps future-proof?
48+ SMEs in the tourism sector have successfully contributed to climate protection through our program. Our goal is to reach 75 tourism companies and 1000 ClimateActions with their employees and guests at Alpine hotels above 1000 meters. The more businesses we can work with and the more employees and guests we can engage with, the greater the contribution to collectively reaching net-zero emissions and preserving the Alps and our environment.
How do you measure your project's success?
CA4C uses an actionable approach effectively reducing emissions and implementing sustainable practices. It enables climate action at both the business and the individual/personal level, which has a greater impact and is urgently needed. Reaching 1000 ClimateActions in the Alps ultimately supports the protection of our climate and environment. Our KPIs: No. of companies, employees empowered, number of climate actions, measured emission reduction, number of best practice exchanges, surveys.
